Breaking Free from Poverty
A team for Friends of Touch
Education + Mentors + Training for Life
Help us help the children of Uganda!
"Breaking Free from Poverty" a team fundraiser to help Friends of Touch. Funds are used to seed vocational training and mentoring projects, provide school fees and supplies, and to equip children for life as they break free from poverty.
Over half of Uganda's population is under the age of 15. Years of HIV/AIDS, war, and poverty have left millions destitute.
Kitintale is an urban slum area on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. Families here struggle to eat just one meal a day - so for many, education is a far-off dream. Even with education, how can young men and women break free from years of poverty?
Working with the local church, TOUCH is showing children and teens how to live and how to dream beyond their current situation. Encouragement, love, prayer, education, and practical skills are provided and practiced with the goal of releasing young leaders who are capable and motivated leaders in their community.
