Zdenka's Team for Ethiopia
A team for INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL ACADEMIC ALLIANCE IMAA
Zdenka's Team for Ethiopia was set up to help the INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL ACADEMIC ALLIANCE expand Ethiopia's Learning Village (K-8 school).
As many of you are aware, in October 2012 Linda, Elaine, and myself travelled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to work in a clinic and a pharmacy set up by a retired Kaiser Permanente Physician, Dr. Fekede Gemechu. In addition to the clinic, Dr. Gemechu and his family in Ethiopia also established a school called Ethiopia's Learning Village, that serves the educational needs of local children as well as provides skill training for adults. The school has been very successful with students achieving top results in national exams, and is now expanding. Dr. Gemechu and his non-profit organization IMAA is asking us for help in raising money for building an addition to their Kindergarten and junior high buildings. We enthusiastically back this effort, this is a project worth supporting. Please consider a donation, however big or small, money goes a long way in Ethiopia. Many children walk two hours one way each day to school to have the opportunity to for a better education.
