PEER Servants would like to raise $75,000 through this year's Walk for Economic Empowerment. Please join our team as we try to raise at least $20,000 for "Where Most Needed" among PEER Servants partnering microfinance organizations. Just click on the "Fundraise" green button to the right and within minutes you can set up your fundraising page and be well on your way to meeting your fundraising goal.

Why microfinance? It's a fantastic means of providing access to opportunity to the materially poor while building their dignity. By generating income and creating jobs, the materially poor are able to send their children to school, access healthcare, avoid risks of human trafficking, and afford clean water.

The funds raised will be distributed through indigenous Christian organizations that have much lower overhead costs than international NGOs while being a part of their respective communities and knowing how to best extend opportunity to them. These indigenous organizations have been partners of PEER Servants for many years and are currently serving over 150,000 active clients. Yet, because they don't generally have as much access to materially rich donors, they are often significantly underresourced in their mission to extend the kingdom of heaven to the materially poor. That's where the 2013 Walk for Economic Empowerment comes in!

The Walk will take place around the world at many different locations on different dates (see below for current locations and dates). If you are able to join our "Where Most Needed" team as a walker, just choose the location and date that works best for you or set up your own walk and we'll add it to our list.

Current Walk Locations/Dates:

  • Charleston, SC - April 20, 9 am
  • Boston (Wakefield), MA - June 1, 10 am
  • Seabrook, NH - August 24, 10 am
  • Phoenix, AZ - October 19, 9:00 am
  • Newburyport, MA - December 14, Noon

Current Indigenous Organizations Supported through the Walk:

  • Haiti/ACLAM
  • India/Christian Service Society
  • Moldova/Invest Credit
  • Peru/Kallarisunchis
  • Philippines/Center for Community Transformation
  • South Africa/Aloga Financial Services
  • Sri Lanka/YGro-HEED
  • Uganda/CAFECC
  • Zambia/CEMFIN

There's a $20 registration fee payable the day of the Walk, but PEER Servants will waive that for anyone who has collected at least $200 by the time of registration.

Please click on "Fundraise" and join our walk team as we provide opportunity to the materially poor. You'll have a great time doing it, extend a bit more of the kingdom of heaven to the materially poor through it, and perhaps even experience a bit more of the kingdom of heaven in your own life as well.
