TRIFC's Khumbu Trek to Everest Base Camp 2016
A team for ROSE INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR CHILDREN
TRIFC's Khumbu Trek to Everest Base Camp 2016 - Raising Funds to Help Children with Disabilities in Nepal.
TRIFC's Vision & Goals:
The primary mission of The Rose International Fund for Children (TRIFC.org) is to improve the lives of children in Nepal, particularly those with disability.
TRIFC.org raises funds through donations, grants and hands-on fundraising activities. With the funds raised we provide financial support to existing non-profit organizations in Nepal that share our goals and vision. Our focus is on providing support in the areas of education, medical needs, nutrition, facilities and environment improvements. We participate in project planning, coordination and implementation. In addition, we raise awareness of the living conditions of these children by documenting and publishing our project work. TRIFC.org believes in sharing resources with those less fortunate.
Khumbu Trek 2016
Combining the classic Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes trek with a stunning crossing of the non-technical Cho La pass provides an unsurpassed circuit trek of the Everest region. We make climbs of the popular Gokyo Ri and Kala Pattar along the way which provide magnificent photo opportunities of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, and views as far as Kanchenjunga in the east and the Tibetan 8000m peak Cho Oyu to the north. We will also view Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Cholatse, the beautiful pyramid of Ama Dablam, as well as countless other Himalayan peaks, monasteries and remote villages. An unforgettable experience and a true challenge never to be forgotten!!
Purpose of Trek:
In Nepal, people with disabilities are thought to be cursed or suffering from a past-life sin. This trek will raise awareness and provide funds to support education, opportunity and empowerment for people with disability!
Goal of Trek:
To exceed $10,000 in donations to help fund existing Nepalese projects:
* School supplies for blind/visually impaired children
* Braille libraries & literacy projects
* Support for deaf women’s empowerment groups
* Food and nutrition support
* Medical and surgical support
* School sponsorship
