A team for Marc Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Foundation
Running for a cause! Chad and Michela run a half marathon for the Marc Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
In the beginning of January, Chad and I met up for his quarter-of-a-century birthday celebration beverage. When speaking of New Year’s resolutions, we decided (shockingly, without being heavily inebriated) that running a half marathon would be a fantastic goal. After all, what could be more perfect than to have accomplished 13 miles in the year 2013?
So here we are (please note that while he elected himself team captain, I’m doing all the dirty work), in the midst of training, looking forward to - while simultaneously dreading - our hilly adventure come June 9th. In an effort to do some good, we’ve decided to fundraise for the Marc Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. Typically, as most of you know, other people in my position aren’t so lucky when a pancreatic tumor appears. We’re happy to run for this organization, not only in memory of those who have passed, but also for those who continue to fight, and in celebration of those who have overcome.
Thank you in advance for any and all donations, well wishes, motivational speeches and advice! We hope to see all of you in Lake Placid enjoying a beautiful summer day while Chad and I slowly sweat our way to the finish line…where we will be expecting refreshments and praise.
