A team for VOYAGEUR OUTWARD BOUND SCHOOL
"Team OWL" a team to help the VOYAGEUR OUTWARD BOUND SCHOOL...
Open World Learning "OWL" is a community school focuses on student-centered learning - a place where innovative programs and hands-on methods encourage curiosity and discovery. It has nurtured self-directed learners for more than 40 years. With just 300 students in Grades 6 through 12, every student is a known and valued part of our family-like community. Open World Learning Community is a member of the national network of Expeditionary Learning Schools, which promote rigorous and engaging curriculum; active, inquiry-based pedagogy; and a school culture that demands and teaches compassion and good citizenship.
OWL partners with Voyageur Outward Bound School to promote the development of leadership, teamwork, and self confidence in their students. In just 2014, OWL students have benefited from the Insight, Launch, and Peer Leadership programs with VOBS, navigating through the Twin cities doing team builders, Canoeing down the St. Croix, and Backpacking on the Superior Hiking Trail.
OWL's Principal, Dave Gundale, and Resource Teacher Breezy Garrison are proud to represent the OWL community in supporting VOBS' 50th Anaversary and first ever Adventure Challenge to give back in such a thriving relationship of compassion.
