Team Connor B.
A team for APFED
Please join us as we walk to support APFED and help families like ours who are living with eosinophilic disorders.
We are walking in honor of our 6-year old son Connor. He was diagnosed with multiple food allergies after an anaphylactic reaction around 9 months old. Despite a limited diet, his health continued to decline over the next 6 months. Around 15 months old, he was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Over the last few years, he has endured a formula-only diet, multiple endoscopies (biopsies of the esophagus) and many failed attempts to introduce new foods. With daily medication, his current diet consists of chicken, turkey, sweet potato, grapes, Fritos and sugar. His primary source of nutrition is still an elemental formula. Although he handles his restrictions very well, it is always heartbreaking when he asks what a food tastes like or is excluded from situations involving food he may never be able to eat. There is no cure for eosinophilic disorders. We are participating in this walk to raise funds for APFED in hopes that one day a cure will be found.
We hope you will be able to join us on Sept. 28th. If you unable to walk with us in person, we would appreciate your support in honor of Connor and other families living with eosinophilic disorders.
