We are a multinational group who hail from various professional backgrounds including a social work, biology, sustainable development, business, and bartending. We share a passion for public health nursing and are beginning to acquire nursing knowledge and clinical skills from our first semester at Johns Hopkins.
 We are eager to add to these new skills by learning from the providers and patients at Kasoa Hospital.

On January 12th we will embark on our first service/learning trip to volunteer in a rural clinic and receive clinical instruction from immense knowledge and experience of nurses who provide front-line health care with limited resources. We can now read EKGs and Cat scans. We can set up IV pumps and perform sterile technique. Now we learn the all-important of assessing our patients’ health with our stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs and our newly acquired knowledge in this rural clinic. Not only will we provide assistance to the hard working nurses and doctors and provide patients education on topics like nutrition, personal hygiene, infectious disease prevention and reproductive health; we will learn invaluable knowledge and skills from the local nurses.
