Run for Hagar 2015
A team for Hagar USA Inc aka Hagar International
"Run for Hagar 2015" to support Hagar Cambodia programme.
“ចង្កឹះ មួយបាច់ កាច់មិនបាក់”- A bunch of sticks cannot be broken.
Old Khmer saying
And that’s what we believe; running together to support Hagar Cambodia and empower our clients to stand strong.
10 weeks! This is all we have for our team to get together and train for the International Angkor Wat Semi-Marathon 2015. And we cannot wait. This year, a group Hagar staff members and supporters will be running the race on December 6th, alongside four incredible Cambodian women who have been through the whole journey of recovery.
Our mission- Raise awareness and money to support the Non-Profit Organization Hagar Cambodia.
The race- there will be two groups. Because after all, it’s about the team spirit.
The “keenies” who will be running the full semi-marathon, that’s 13 miles (21 kms) under the scorching tropical sun, around Angkor Wat, Angkor Tom, Bayon, Ta Prohm and back.
The “measured ones” who will be running the three kilometer race around the famous Angkor Wat complex.
Why would we put ourselves though this tough challenge? Because we are passionate about the work of Hagar in Cambodia.
Hagar is an aftercare organization that works with survivors of abuse, exploitation, and human trafficking in Cambodia, providing shelter, counseling, and education. We are proud to be a part of Hagar’s amazing work restoring lives for the long run. For more information about the organization, check out our website: https://hagarinternational.org/international/our-work/where-we-work/cambodia/
Please consider contributing to the work of Hagar! Our aim is to raise $500 each, but even small amounts with many of us coming together can make a large impact and change the lives and futures of victims of human trafficking.
We appreciate all your support!
