A1:8 DRC: Plant in Congo
A team for GLOBAL OUTREACH INC
One year ago, a vision was shared to take stories of hope in Congo and then whatever God puts in your heart, to plant in Congo. Here we are.
Meredith Thompson Midterm Mission 2012
"A1:8 DRC: Plant in Congo" is based out of the A1:8 community in Washington, DC. In partnership with GLOBAL OUTREACH INC., these are individuals who have responded to the call to support and share life with our brothers and sisters in Congo, especially the 58 orphans that live in Congo for Christ (CCC) compound. Each person has a unique calling and a specific skills, strengths, and perspective that we pray will be a blessing to the community and assist with physical, mental and spiritual issues on the ground.
Building off the momentum of twice yearly short-term missions trips, these individuals will go for a longer period of time from 3 months to 1 year and work alongside local community members and leaders to empower as well as develop capacity. Jesus came to provide spiritual transformation, but He also provided physical and social as well. Training, resources, education, opportunities for empowerment, and encouragement for the impoverished are some of the oldest and most Biblical ways of serving in ministry.
Your support will provide for physical needs on the ground (i.e. travel, lodging, food, medicine, supplies, ministry needs, etc) for the length of time he/she is in the field and on mission.
