A team for JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL
Six outstanding young men from Jesuit High School will spend a week serving the hungry and homeless on Skid Row in Los Angeles, Summer 2015.
The Jesuit Christian Service Program provides students opportunities to engage in service within a context that calls for solidarity with people in need. It complements the academic curriculum by providing experiences that enable students to recognize the dignity and vlue of each human being and to live out the gospel message of love, service and community through direct action.
Students will volunteer for one week with the homeless and hungry on Skid Row in Los Angeles, California. They will live simply, in the offices of a homeless shelter, prepare, serve, and eat meals with those in need, visit HomeBoy Industries, and reflect on their service and experience at the end of each day.
Please consider joining them in this ministry by donating toward the supplies they will purchase to share with others as well as donations to the non-profits with whom they will minister. We also ask for your prayers as we undertake this work and experience service and solidarity with our neighbors to the south.
