Jamaica Mission 2014

Please consider supporting this mission trip. My son, David and I, have joined this mission team to go work in the Jamaican Golden Grove community this July for ten days. The team fundraises all the money for travel expenses and building materials. We will be going to the hurricane side of the island to one of the poorest communities in Jamaica. There are two facilities we will be working on. One is a pre-school building, and the other is a health clinic. Our church, FUMC, raised the funds recently to rebuild the pre-school into a cement and rebar building so that it would no longer be destroyed repeatedly by the frequent hurricanes.

This is a unique opportunity for American teen-agers to catch a glimpse into how they can have a positive impact in this world through their time, labor and efforts. Our church has sent many, many teams of youth to this community over the years, and each time, I have witnessed teen-agers transformed and inspirated by the experience. Their graititude for the abundance with which they are blessed is deepened and they are inspired after witnessing Jamaicans who, in the midst of very hard lives, still live with joy. It gives these teens a new perspective on their own lives. If you would like to support David and I in this exciting adventure, please consider making a donation to this cause. Thanks for taking the time to read this request.
