Hillel ASB New Orleans 2012
A team for JEWISH UNITED FUND OF METROPOLITAN CHICAGO
"Hillel ASB New Orleans 2012" a team to help the JEWISH UNITED FUND OF METROPOLITAN CHICAGO
We are a group of 8 Northwestern University students who will travel
to New Orleans over Spring Break to participate in a humanitarian and
cultural exchange program. During our stay, our team will be working
with Beacon of Hope, which helps to rebuild the New Orleans community
that is still struggling from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. The
organization rebuilds homes and helps to establish sustainable
programs that generate development throughout the community. We will
also be exploring the cultural history and Jewish connections to New
Orleans. We will visit synagogues, participate in the annual Road Food
Festival, and hear live jazz.
We feel honored to have been given the opportunity to serve the New
Orleans community and cannot wait to immerse ourselves in its culture.
However, this trip will not be possible without the help of friends
and family like you. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate
your support. Donations of any amount would be extremely helpful
considering the sizeable cost of the trip.
