    about Guatemala City 2013

Operation Rainbow is a non-profit, orthopedic surgical mission that is dedicated to performing free orthopedic surgery for indigent children and young adults in developing countries worldwide who do not have access to related medical procedures or equipment.

Each year, Operation Rainbow sends teams of volunteers from across the nation on multiple mission trips. On September 27th, 2013 our team from the South Bay will be going on a ten-day medical mission trip to Guatemala.

For children living in physical pain, Operation Rainbow medical missions are the proverbial pot of gold that dramatically enriches their lives. Each trip is a 100% working mission, with all volunteer medical teams working nearly around-the-clock for the visit’s duration. During that time, 40-60 surgeries are performed, as well as 200-300 non-surgical interventions.

For host nations, while collaborative care is a priority, resources are often limited. In order to provide medical care, we are required to bring all surgical/medical equipment, wheelchairs, crutches, and medications needed for these procedures.

With your help and assistance, we can make this mission a great success by providing life changing procedures, long-term benefits, and improved quality of life for the recipients.

Donations are tax-deductable.
