Teens Serving In Tampa Spring Break 2012
A team for GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH OF TOPEKA
Mobilizing students to sacrifice spring break by finding the joy in serving Christ by serving others through various nonprofit ministries.
I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity that God has presented to me. During Spring Break in 2012 I have a chance to go to Tampa, Florida with the youth group from Grace Community Church in Topeka. This 7-day missions trip will consist of opportunities to serve at a homeless shelter, a ministry to immigrant farm workers, a rehabilitation hospital and an orphanage.
While God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for me and my fellow students. We will need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people in the Tampa area. We will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time we need to raise $800 each to attend this trip, and that is quite a challenge!
Another way you can be involved is to help provide a portion of that financial support. Would you consider supporting me with a small donation? I have included a postage-paid envelope for you to use if you feel led to contribute. I will need to raise at least $550 of my fee by November 13th in order to pay for airline tickets and rental vehicles. Any donations should be in check form and please make checks payable to Grace Community Church. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is appreciated.
If for any reason I have to back out of this trip, the funds I have raised will go to future youth group camps and activities for me such as Camp Barnabas where we spend a week working with physically or mentally disabled campers.
I look forward to doing God's work in Tampa and letting you know all about how God has worked through this team when I return in at the end of spring break next year.
I want to train students to make a lifelong decision to serve Christ by serving others.
