"Firewall Serve-A-Thon" Together we are transforming students into SERVANT LEADERS!

name dollars donors

This spring, a movement unlike any other will take place in our community as Firewall hosts its first annual Serve-a-thon!

On Saturday, May 3rd, Firewall’s 250 students along with their mentors, school representatives, and community leaders will serve together to make a difference in our neighborhoods.

At Firewall Centers, we serve 250 at-risk students every day. One of the core principles we teach our students is to “Keep Giving Back.” This is a character trait necessary for their success in school, at home, and in their future workplaces.

We are proud to introduce our 2014 Serve-A-Thon not only because it is a tool to provide much-needed funding for Firewall students and their mentoring and leadership development, but also because it is a hands-on opportunity for us to impact our community and intentionally give back to the places we call home.

  • Some of the service projects we have planned include:
    • Landscaping run-down public spaces
    • Planting trees at the Davie Police Station
    • Restoring the schools the students attend by painting and mulching
    • Helping out at a local fire station
    • Serving food to the homeless in partnership with Hope South Florida
    • Planting a garden at a community center

Yes, this will be a day of sweat and hard work but also of unity, compassion, and a whole lot of fun! Serving is a gift that we have the privilege of sharing with families, friends, neighbors, and those in need.
