We are a team that is trying to spread awareness about the injustices that are occuring to women in Afghanistan everyday. We need your help to support the fight for womens rights. After the Iraqi war, people believed that. The donations that you make will go to the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA), an organization that is the oldest political and social organization of Afghan women fighting for human rights and social justice. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognises the inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable rights of all human beings regardless of sex, race, colour, language, religion or distinction of any kind. Afghanistan was one of the countries that voted in favour of the adoption of the UDHR. More recently, the Women’s Political Participation Committee, a coalition of some 200 women’s and civil society organisations, referred back to the UDHR in a statement during the London Conference in 2010, where the international community met to discuss progress in Afghanistan’s reconstruction and democratisation. Improvements have been made for women in recent years as women begin to gain more demcratic paower. The new president of Afghanistans wife is also taking a stance for women's rights and attain equality. It seems that the Taliban, who have been the sole reason for these human rights violations, are sneaking their way back into Afghan rule through agreements with the governement and president. The Afghan government is still corrupt and unable to commit to the laws of the Geneva Convetion. We are sending these donations to RAWA because this organization is full of native courageous Afghan women who have been on the frontlines of the fight for womens rights. They oppose western groups from intervening in their fight because they believe that outside groups do not live and experience what it is like to live in Afghanistan. This organization has been in the fight since the begining and know what it takes to achieve the goal. We need you to donate so that they can continue their fight and support for women in the country. In return for your donation you will receive, a personal thank you from our organization and RAWA, a shoutout on our twitter, and a wristband that you can wear to show your support for the movement. Donate and join the fight so that women in Afghanistan can live the free and worry free lives that we do in the US.
