Chemen Lavi Miyo (CLM), which means Path to a Better Life, is a program in the Central Plateau of Haiti run by our partner Fonkoze. The program takes women from ultra poverty and seeks to raise them to a level where they can sustain themselves and their family. The CLM program puts these women in a group with other women in the same situation and provides them with a caseworker. Over the next 18 months the women work in their group and with their caseworker to establish a personal enterprise (gardening, animals, selling convenience items, etc.). They receive training in running the business and providing for their families. Meanwhile their children are put into school and they are provided the materials to build a home that provides adequate shelter.

HTF of Colorado is raising 16 Haitian women & their families out of extreme poverty to a self sustaining life. $25,000 = life for 16 women.
