CHECK-IN: 11:00 am

START TIME: 12:00 noon

AFTER PARTY: 4:00pm

THREE TRAILS TO CHOOSE FROM:

2. The Terrier - one mile with moderate sloping terrain
3. The Greyhound - over two miles of challenging, fairly steep terrain

Kakiat Park features 3 trails for all levels from flat wetlands to rolling hills, to steep mountainsides which provide views of the Manhattan skyline! There are scenic overlooks adjacent to Harriman State Park, as well as a leash-free doggie fun zone. Cross the Mahwah River on the footbridge which brings you to the Pavilion where our day begins. Then join us at 4pm under the tent for some after-party fun with a DJ!

Come for a FUN family-friendly, picnic-perfect day at Kakiat Park and enjoy all types of treats, music, refreshments, exhibits, & prizes and an opportunity to unite with fellow pet lovers in helping to support The HSUS!

True beauty doesn't come from cruelty. Come help us raise awareness and put an end to needless testing of cosmetics and personal care products on helpless animals. All funds will directly support The HSUS Be Cruelty-Free campaign.

Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash, at least 4 months of age and for the safety of every dog, each should be current on all vaccinations. Clean up bags will be provided to help out the clean-up committee.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Scientists use animals to test cosmetics, medicines & lots of other products we use. It’s unethical and cruel!
  • Millions of animals are subjected to excruciating pain in labs & thousands die. Estimates say over 25 million animals are used in US experiments each year! 86,000 are dogs & cats!
  • Thousands of shelter animals are tormented and euthanized in US labs every year.
  • Most of the animals used in cosmetic testing die. Many of these labs burn, shock, torture & starve animals without pain relief.
  • Animal testing is often ineffective in predicting how products will work on people. According to the FDA, 92% of animal studies failed in humans.
