Teens dedicated to helping give a child a CASA through philanthropy
Teen Philanthropists put their best foot forward to experience the real world challenge that comes with meeting the needs of important community programs. A child going through the dependency court system can be a terrifying, confusing, and overwhelming experience involving lawyers, judges, and child protective services. Volunteer adult Advocates dedicate hundreds of hours to helping the child through the process while listening to their needs and communicating the child's needs to the judge. These Advocates are trained and supervised by CASA employees. One CASA employee can oversee 20 cases. There are currently over 350 children in the dependency court system, of which only 125 are able to be served by CASA. For each $1,000 raised, an additional child can be served.
