ARISE & Ride for Ramps - 2013
A team for ARISE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE INC
ARISE & Ride for Ramps is an event to raise funds to support the Oswego County Ramp Program!
At six years old, Ava had already undergone nine surgeries in her battle with cancer. With another surgery scheduled, this time on her feet, Ava would need to use a wheelchair during her recovery. The front steps of her home suddenly became a barrier. Her family worried about how she would safely come and go.
Thanks to our Oswego County Ramp Program and our volunteers, a ramp went up at their house before Ava’s surgery. Now, the only thing Ava and her family had to focus on was healing and recover.
The ARISE Oswego County Ramp Program provides ramps for people with disabilities and their families so they can regain access to their home. Through the support of dedicated volunteers and donations from the community, we’ve been able to provide ramps for over 140 families. We hope you will join us and ride, run, and collect pledges so even more of our neighbors can reclaim their independence and come home.
