Allison Lynne Snyder
This campaign already ended. We hope you like the results!
The NODCC a non-profit organization that provides valuable information to parents of children like Allison Lynne Snyder needs your support.
Allison struggled from birth with basic things. At 3 months her head size had grown off the charts. We were sent to a Neurosurgeon who diagnosed her with Hydrocephalus. At 5 months he surgically placed a VP shunt. In the follow-up MRI he noticed that she had Complete Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum.
The Corpus Callosum is the part of the brain which allows the right and left hemispheres to communicate with each other. It is like the high speed internet of the brain and without it very simple tasks are quite difficult.
Allison has learned to do many things that the Neurosurgeon didn't think she would be able to do. She now walks, tires easily, but can walk without a walker. She can climb stairs, ride her adaptive trike and most importantly can ride her horse in therapy.
She struggles with communication at times, loves to work on her IPAD and goes to high school. She really enjoys attending the NODCC conferences. We became involved with the NODCC almost at it's inception. It has been a most benefical organization which has provided us with materials and support that we have been able to share with Drs., therapists and her educators.
Monies that are raised with this fundraiser will help the NODCC continue their work and help many other kids and adults living with a disorder of the corpus callosum.
