22 Too Many - T2T
A team for 22 TOO MANY INC
Did you know that on average 22 veterans commit suicide per day? This is a heartbreaking and unacceptable statistic. We run for awareness!
On average, 22 veterans commit suicide each day. As a combat veteran, I have very strong feelings regarding this statistic. It's heartbreaking, saddening, distrubing and most importantly, completely unacceptable. My fellow brothers and sisters are dying at an alarming rate. PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and TBI (tramatic brain injury) are very real and are the leading cause of veteran suicides. The public needs to be made aware of these daily tragedies.
I have started a team to participate in the 5k Tunnel to Towers run, which commemorates fallen FDNY member Stephen Siller, who lost his life on 9/11. Siller ran from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, with his gear, to the twin towers. He died, a hero, saving others that tragic day. A new york native, I joined the US Army shortly after 9/11. This run and the mission of 22 Too Many are a perfect opportnity to help me bring awareness for a cause so close to my heart.
