The 2015 overnight Solstice Run is organized by On The Ground to raise awareness and funds for women empowerment programs in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).

The 40 mile ultra-run begins at sunset, Friday, June 19th in Northport, MI(Leelanau County Peninsula’s northernmost point) and continues south through the night, ending at sunrise over Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse West Bay (Traverse City, MI).

Funds raised support the ongoing efforts of OTG’s Project Congo focused on gender equality program work. Project Congo empowers women through programs that create access to knowledge, land, income and health care, enabling them to run their own lives and businesses.
