HandsOn Bay Area: Strengthen the Bay Area through Volunteer Action
HandsOn Bay Area creates opportunities for people to volunteer, learn and lead in their communities. We strive to provide volunteers with a high-quality experience that fuels further action, and we envision a day when everyone is inspired and equipped to be the change they wish to see in the world.
HandsOn Bay Area works with local nonprofits, schools and parks to identify high-impact, group-based volunteer projects. We recruit volunteers to get the job done and match each project with a trained Project Leader to ensure that both the community partner and the volunteers are satisfied with the work.
Not only do we manage more than 80 direct-service projects a month, we offer educational programming to help volunteers become well-informed community leaders. HandsOn Bay Area's TeamWorks fuses volunteer service projects, community issue education and team-building activities to produce a unique, team-based service learning program. To accommodate busy schedules, we offer our programs on weekends and evenings, and we give volunteers an easy way to sign up for projects, track their service hours and learn about new opportunities through our Project Calendar.
For corporate clients, we offer comprehensive planning services for employee volunteer events through our Hands@Work program. We work with companies to further their corporate social responsibility goals by engaging their employees in hands-on service.
Your contribution helps the LIFT Team put together events in efforts to generate awareness and further HandsOn Bay Area's mission. We appreciate any contribution, big or small.
Along with increasing community impact, your generous donation supports HOBA's dedication to achieving its many goals, including but not limited to the following:
Our volunteer projects provide more than 65,000 hours of service to more than 200 nonprofits across the Bay Area, meeting critical community needs includingeducation and literacy, HIV/AIDS, health and aging, homelessness and hunger, and the environment.
In 2009, HandsOn Bay Area hosted over 100 service-learning events, and ourLeadership Institute Fellowship Team (LIFT), a year-long immersion into nonprofit management, has graduated over two dozen new community leaders.
Your time is a precious donation. If you are unable to provide a financial contribution to our campaign but would still like to be part of our initiative, pleaseemail the LIFT Team or find us online to see other ways to give.
