2014 Walk for Economic Empowerment - Team South Africa
A team for PEER SERVANTS
"2014 Walk for Economic Empowerment - Team South Africa" is a team to raise funds for Aloga, a Christian MFI outside Pretoria, South Africa.
The new South Africa is 20 years old! The country, even the continent, are still celebrating the fall of apartheid. But while some have prospered during these last two decades, many in the townships of South Africa still struggle to meet daily needs. Overall unemployment rates exceed 25% in South Africa - even higher in the townships.
That's where Aloga Financial Services comes in. Aloga is a South African Christian microfinance institution addressing the needs of South African people. It has a South African board with South African management and staff. It extended an invitation to PEER Servants to partner with it in 1999, and the organizations have been working together to extend the kingdom of heaven to the townships of Mamelodi and Soshanguve ever since. Over 1,000 people have already received loans that have enabled them to start small businesses and create jobs, but thousands remain to be served.
Please click on "Fundraise" to the right and join Team South Africa to raise $5,000+ to create opportunities for the people of the townships surrounding Pretoria. 100% of what we raise will go to Aloga. You can walk right where you are when convenient with you, or join others on Team South Africa. Please go to www.w4ee.org for a list of Walk sites and dates.
If you have donors who prefer to give offline, ask them to make checks out to "PEER Servants" and give/mail them to you. Then just bring them to the Walk or mail them to PEER Servants at PO Box 258, Woburn, MA 01801. Please include a slip noting your name and the team you are on. You can also add the offline donations to your fundraising page to show the progress in meeting your fundraising goal.
May God bless you richly and multiply many times over what we can raise together to bless the people in the townships of South Africa.
