Thank you for caring about our future!!!!

Our kids need help! Join us in teaching financial literacy in this fun & innovative way so teens can hold their own key for future success!

The ThriveTime Challenge is a successful community partnership initiative that teaches Arizona students important life skills including financial education, with the opportunity to win college scholarships, in a fun and competitive environment.

Today’s current economic crisis is the result of people making poor credit decisions and mismanagement of their money. Without a foundation of sound financial literacy, the next generation will be even worse off.

Teens at Risk. While the national unemployment rate for 16- to 19-yr-olds stood at a shocking 23.7 percent in June, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, an analysis by the Employment Policies Institute shows that Arizona’s teen unemployment rate in July was 28.7 percent, sixth-highest among the states.

Providing essential financial literacy training to our youth will allow them the opportunity to succeed in their personal and professional life thus contributing to our society while providing opportunities to take immediate action in order to improve their own financial situation. Financial struggles lead to a cascade effect of low self-esteem, hopelessness, despair, shame, depression, homelessness, violence, and suicide. The ThriveTime Challenge teaches young people to take control of their own financial lives, empowering them with how to make smart money management choices as well as igniting their entrepreneurial spirit.

The ThriveTime Challenge is a Success! In a recent assessment:

  • 72% to 76% of the students reported that they were better prepared to make decisions about money at the end of our 2 hour event.
  • 80% to 90% of students increased their knowledge about the components of an income statement and how Net Income is calculated.
  • The Challenge is supported by Arizona State Treasurer Doug Ducey, the Arizona Society of CPAs and many corporate and community leaders. To see a list of our current sponsors, please visit

Our Pledge. We are determined to help today’s youth conquer the pressures created by financial struggles. With your help we can reach every high school student before they enter the real world with this vital education! Time is of the essence!

Goals: The goal of Choices Educational Empowerment is to provide problem solving tools and solutions that empower youth to make positive choices related to common issues facing K-12 students. This is done through interactive and experiential activities and assemblies with a primary focus being made on financial education and entrepreneurship. The objective of these events is that students experience increased confidence, better understanding of the financial impact of every day decision making as well as the added value of higher learning and the critical role that relationships make for future success.

We humbly ask for your generous support of the ThriveTime Challenge.

Thank you for caring about today’s youth!
