The HALO Foundation empowers youth in the greatest need to become contributing members of their communities.
Internationally, HALO supports 11 orphanages and programs in Uganda, Kenya, Mexico, India, and Nicaragua. It is our goal to give orphans in need a bright future by providing them food, water, shelter, clothing, education, art therapy, care takers, and vocational trianing. With the proper tools, children are able to become contributing members and leaders of their communities once they age out of the home. HALO serves more than 1,000 youth each year.
HALO also provides educational workshops and art therapy to at-risk, homeless and foster care youth in the Kansas City and Denver areas. At HALO Centers for Youth, children are exposed to a variety of programs that allow them to explore vocational opportunities once they are of age.
There are several ways you can get involved with HALO. You can host a fundraiser, sponsor a HALO home, get your school/company involved, become a HALO ambassador, volunteer and donate. Youth also have options. They can host a Dance for Change fundraiser and join ClubHALO.
Kennedy Kiiru lost his parents at a young age. He and his siblings were working all day in a field, trying to cultivate the ground for food on their grandmother's small plot of land. They shared a blanket at night and slept on the floor. Kennedy's grandmother brought the children to HALO home in Kenya. Kennedy now doesn't have to worry about where their next meal will come from, and he is now learning to be a carpenter. This is an example of the impact you can make by joining our mission.
