The vision of the SSTCI is to build community in Silver Spring by creating a creative environment in the Town Center that is open, welcoming, and safe for all and that reflects the interests and needs of the community; to inspire and uplift residents of the Silver Spring area by planning, providing and arranging positive, energetic programming that is interesting, educational and entertaining; to promote cross-community and cross-cultural understanding by embracing racial and cultural diversity; to encourage and support the arts by providing a dynamic, visual focal point in the community, by making local art more widely accessible to the community, and by promoting the arts and entertainment district; to foster civic engagement by providing a forum for active dialogue around issues that affect the community; to assist the County Government in marketing and promoting the programs and services provided in the facility and reach out to and involve all segments of the population; and to marshal, manage and maintain the available resources effectively, efficiently and collaboratively so as to assure the long term viability and stability of SSTCI as a vital community institution.
