I’m running the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, 2013, for Newton's Boys and Girls Club. My goal is to raise $5,026. Help me get there!
I’ve grown up in Newton watching the runners on Marathon Monday huff and puff their way up Heartbreak Hill. This year, I've decided to become a part of that tradition and run the race myself. As a senior in high school, I hope to leave Massachusetts for college next year. So it's now or never!
And what better way to run the race than to run it for a good cause? I can’t think of a more worthy nonprofit organization than the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton. Over 100 kids come to The Club everyday after school and participate in programs designed to let them think bigger, grow stronger and become the people they dream of. And it's the perfect way for me to give back to the city that nurtured me.
Whether you give $1 or $200, every single bill counts toward ensuring that The Club can continue the work they started way back in 1899. Join me in providing quality educational programs and athletic activities to kids so that they are equipped with the crucial skills needed to become healthy, fit, and successful adults.
If you are considering donating, please inquire about any matching funds program your employer may have.
Thanks for visiting and THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your support of my Boston Marathon run!
