Transforming the lives of youth and families in the Central Neighborhood of Minneapolis!
THANK YOU FOR GIVING TO PARK AVENUE YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES! YOUR GIFT IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS!
Park Avenue Youth and Family Services (PAYFS) was established in 1985 by members of Park Avenue United Methodist Church to address the needs of children and families in our neighborhood.
Our mission is to empower residents of the Central neighborhood area of south Minneapolis to eliminate disparities in health & quality of life stemming from racism & poverty. We accomplish our mission by:
- Investing in the positive development of youth;
- Supporting and strengthening families; and
- Building and transforming community.
Our afterschool and summer academic and enrichment programs are working hard to close the achievement gap. Village Tutors provides 100 students with intensive reading and math tutoring. Tronix Team partners with schools and nonprofits to bring electronics projects to more than 500 students, teaching science standards in a hands-on learning environment. And our Children's Defense Fund Freedom School—a multicultural literacy program that helps kids improve their literacy skills and build self-esteem—engages 50 students in the Southside’s only Freedom School program.
And our on-site medical and legal clinics are helping families across South Minneapolis access free healthcare and legal advice.
YOUR GIFT TODAY IS MAKING ALL OF THIS IMPORTANT WORK POSSIBLE!
