I am raising funds to positively impact the lives of our wounded veterans. Help me make their transition possible!
On April 20, 2013 I will be taking part in The SEALFIT Challenge Powered by Transition Possible. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to truly test the heart and soul. It is a 12 hour mental and physical challenge lead by a team of Navy SEALS designed to forge mental toughness, an Unbeatable Mind and a warrior spirit. I know that I will not be facing this challenge alone as I will have the inspirational support of undertaking this crucible alongside a Wounded Warrior/Adaptive Athlete. Together, as a team, we will face this challenge head on and show the world the power of the mind over the body and the non-quitting warrior spirit.
While I am currently preparing for the mental and physical challenge, I have also accepted the challenge to raise money to sponsor the Wounded Warrior/Adaptive Athlete I will partner with and to support the programs of Transition Possible, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is passionate about the health and wellness of our wounded heroes. I would like to ask for your support in raising funds for this important cause, a cause that is near and dear to me as I personally believe it is our duty to do what we can for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Please consider making a donation of $25, $50, $100 or more to help me reach my fundraising goal!
WHY TRANSITION POSSIBLE:
Transition Possible is a San Antonio based 501c3 non profit established in April, 2011 to serve veterans who have incurred a physical injury resulting in an amputation or functional limb loss or those who have incurred PTSD or TBI on or after the 1990 Gulf War. Many of these wounded veterans are struggling to find a way to transition back into their lives; to find their "new normal." Transition Possible exists to bridge the gap between the everyday citizen and these heroes and to help them continue to live and achieve post-injury
- To create awareness, inclusion and integration of wounded veterans into our community.
- To heal the mind and body; physically, emotionally and socially through adaptive sports and fitness.
- To create career opportunities for wounded veterans.
WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO?:
All funds raised will go directly to support the programs and services of Transition Possible and sponsorship of the Wounded Warrior/Adaptive Athlete I will be paired with for The SEALFIT Challenge.
PROGRAMS AND SERVICES:
Adaptive Sports: Transition Possible provides athletic CrossFit scholarships to wounded veterans and works with existing CrossFit affiliates to support or increase adaptive athletic offerings to our community. Team Bomb Proof is an adaptive athletic team that will participate in athletic events throughout the nation, raising awareness and promoting inclusion and integration of our wounded veterans.
Community Engagement: Transition Possible will host a centralized online forum and network for Wounded Warriors, adaptive athletes, health and fitness facilities and their owners, trainers and coaches. This open-source website will highlight exercises and movement adaptations for individuals with prosthetics and other adaptive needs and allow for discussion and the exchange of resources and information.
Opportunity: Transition Possible believes in creating career opportunities for wounded veterans and long-term will provide mentorship, training and resources for wounded veterans to open their own CrossFit affiliate to create a sustainable business.
