Stonecliffe Animal Rescue is no-kill shelter located in Lemoore, CA. They need money to expand the rescue and save more dogs.
Before I tell you about me, I want to tell you a little more about Stonecliffe. Stonecliffe adopted out almost 600 dogs this year. About twice a month (often more) they drive up to the East Bay Area. This adds up to 3 hours each way, twice a month. They rescue dogs that would be euthanized, but also have a few special cases. From a pit bull with mange to a pair of dogs looking for a home together, Stonecliffe is always helping.
The basic plan is to add more kennels (therefore saving more dogs) and a safe place for mother dogs to raise their puppies. There are some other details, but this is the central focus of my fundraiser. This will cost about $15,000. Please donate to this wonderful organization.
Now a little about me. I'm 13 years old, and I've always loved dogs. Most rescues have strict age regulations, thus preventing me from volunteering. Stonecliffe changed my life when they allowed me to become a volunteer. I set out to prove that they wouldn't regret letting a kid like me volunteer.
I convinced my parents to foster twice. The first time we fostered a cute terrier named Jasper. Many of the pictures on the site are of him. Jasper would bark excessively at the other dogs, but much to my surprise, when we fostered him he became a new dog, and is very well behaved! He goes everywhere dogs are allowed, and always gets comments on how well behaved and cute he is.
The second foster was Sammi, a sweet shih tzu mix that had been abused and shuffled from home to home. With big brown eyes and a fluffy head, she was quite the cutie!
Both dogs found wonderful homes, but I wasn't satisfied quite yet. When I couldn't foster again, I was initially upset. There were dogs that needed help! Finally, I realized that maybe I could still help this rescue that played such an important role in my life.
I set out in search of fundraising ideas. My parents helped me set up a fundraising page, and we are working on numerous ideas to raise money for this great organization. Check the page regularly for updates!
