Help us raise the necessary funds to provide medical care for all of the deserving pets at our shelter.

We’ve hit 34,000! If you are one of the more than 34,000 animal lovers who follow our tails on Facebook, you know the amazing lifesaving work we do here at the KC Pet Project every day! We see each of you as part of our family; celebrating happy adoption stories, enjoying photos of the wonderful and sometimes unusual pets at our shelter, and supporting us in our challenge of running an open admission city shelter. We truly appreciate everything you will do to help us find homes or other safe placement for more than 8,000 unique and precious dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens in Kansas City this year.

But what if our 34,000 caring animal lovers who follow our tails on Facebook would each contribute just $34 today to help ensure thousands of dogs or cats that arrive at KC Pet Project this year can receive the lifesaving emergency veterinary care they deserve? How many animals could be saved?

Already in 2014, our medical bills to outside veterinary clinics for the hundreds of injured and ill pets that have already entered our shelter exceeds $100,000 – bills which are funded solely by KC Pet Project. Your generous gift to our Medical Fund will help raise the $160,000 desperately needed this year to save tiny puppies sick with deadly parvovirus, dogs in need of lifesaving heartworm treatments; kittens with upper respiratory infections; dogs and cats hit by cars requiring leg amputations, stitches or x-rays and many others emergency that continue to arrive each week. We receive at least 5 pets in need of emergency veterinary care each week, and we have at least 50 dogs in our shelter at any given time currently awaiting lifesaving heartworm treatments at an average cost of $200 each.

As the largest and only open admission, No-Kill shelter in Kansas City, we never turn away an animal in need – including those animals that arrive too young, too old, too ill or too injured and are turned away by all other shelters in the metropolitan area. Together, we can help more animals right here in our community recover and find new, loving homes.

Won’t you please consider a gift from the heart today of just $34 to help provide much needed medical funds for these dogs and cats at the KC Pet Project?
