We help families who experience loss of residence to fire, water, or natural disaster by providing housing, counseling, and other resources.
The vision of Joshua House Ministries, Inc. was inspired by a picture drawn by the founders' son, Joshua. Joshua was 8-years old at the time. In September 2006, the founders and their five children experienced a fire in their home. Most of the damage to their home was water damage because the sprinkler system came on when a fire started in the kitchen, and never shut off once the fire was extinquished. There was more water damage than fire damage destroying the first two floors of the family's home. This was devastating to the founders and their children. However, this tragedy seemed to awaken a passion planted in Joshua's heart - a home for the homeless. It was during this time that then 8-year old Joshua drew and presented to his mother a picture with the words "Homes for the Homeless" written across the top. This picture was a beautiful home, a vision, founded in a sense of loss and yet compassion for others. It was at that moment the family realized that out of their own loss a vision was being birthed to help those who would also experience what they went through.
