Mentoring Works. Help us support iMentor.
As some of you know, my brother and I have been working with a mentorship organization called iMentor. The organization utilizes unique matching software to connect NYC professionals with high school students from low-income communities.
The iMentor program makes a difference
The impact and the ambition the mentors have ignited in their mentees is significant:
- 86% feel positive about their future and have high self expectations
- 92% graduate high school compared to only 61% across NYC
- 94% believe they will complete at least an Associates degree
- 85% said their mentors helped motivate them to achieve their goals
Our experiences reflect these amazing statistics
We were both matched with students at the Urban Assembly for Careers in Sports in the Bronx. Our mentees are in 9th grade and 11th grade and we have had the pleasure of working with and learning from Anthony and Shaquille, our respective mentees. My brother and I are committed to giving other young professionals like ourselves and high school students like Anthony and Shaquille the opportunity for a similar experience.
Help iMentor, help NYC youth
We are participating in iMentor's 2010 Online Donor Drive. It’s a very quick and easy way to help raise essential funds so iMentor can continue its great work. I know you have heard this before but every dollar contributed makes a difference and is critical to helping iMentor make a mentor-mentee match. Our fundraising goal is $3,000.00 and Bobby and I will match every dollar that you donate to help reach this goal and support this outstanding organization.
We really appreciate your support.
