Running to thank everyone who supported us in Boston on April 15, 2013

I decided to run my 1st marathon since 1996 on April 15, 2013 at Boston. Several of my Wicked Running Club teammates on the bus ride to Hopkinton were running for the Franklin Park Coalition. We hung out together in Hopkinton before the start. My original intention was that Boston would be my last marathon as I ran it in memory of my Mom. Due to the tragic events of April 15th I was stopped about ½ a mile from the finish. After considerable thought, I have decided to return to run the Boston Marathon in 2014.

I have many fond memories of Franklin Park during my 40 year career of running. They include finishing 6th in the JV division in the Catholic Memorial Invitational in 1976. I volunteered at the 1992 World Cross Country Championships where I saw Lynn Jennings (U.S) win the World Title on her home turf. Running for a team in the 1996 USATF Masters Championship was a fun time!

Running for the Franklin Park Coalition is the best way for me to thank Boston for all the wonderful things that were done for all of us there on that fateful day and afterwards.
