Cisco UK Public Sector Team and Friends Sponsored Walk is aiming to raise £2500 for the releaf efforts in Haiti.
Haiti has experienced a magnitude 7.0 earthquake that has killed thousands of people (with some estimates in the hundreds of thousands) and left untold numbers still trapped.
The quake and its aftershocks have crushed thousands of structures, from schools and shacks to the National Palace and the U.N. peacekeeping headquarters. As much as one-third of Haiti's 9 million people need emergency aid, and UNICEF officials estimate that half of those affected are children.
Cisco Foundation had made a US$250,000 donation directly to the American Red Cross for response to this disaster.
The Cisco Foundation will also match initially up to a total of US$1 million for employee contributions.
Our aim is to pool our efforts as Cisco employees and to collect sponsorship from friends and family then make our donations personally via this site
