The C.O.P.S. walk is 25 miles walked in two days! I need to raise a minimum of $1,000! :) In memory of FTO David Scott.
On June 7, 2002 when I was ten years old, my family went from 6 people to 5. My Dad was a police officer killed in the line of duty when in pursuit of a robbery suspect. Since then my mom has raised four beautiful girls by herself with just the memory of their father to keep us going. When my father died I instantly became a member of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). Through COPS I have been saved. I attend National Police Week in Washington D.C. every year, where I honor my father and all those officers who lost their lives protecting us. I have attended C.O.P.S. retreats since I was 11. From going to Kids Camp to Outward Bound, now to Adult Children's Retreat, COPS has given me lifelong friendships and a light at the end of the tunnel. I have met people who understand and know that even 9 years later I still cry myself to sleep because I haven't seen my Dad's face for half of my life. This organization has made it okay for me to talk, cry, laugh, and be proud of the hero my Dad was. I have since become Middle and East TN COPS secretary and follow my mother's lead who is President of our chapter and serves as National Board member as the Southern Seaboard Trustee. I need to help the organization that has saved my life. So please help me in order to do that.:)!
