I am joining "Team Brooklyn" in the fight to CURE Rett Syndrome.
I am Brooklyn's mom (which is by far one of my greatest honors!) - last year was my first attempt at the 1/2 marathon. To be honest it seemed like a challenge I just COULDN'T do. Then I thought of all the challenges that Brooklyn faces each day - she battles seizures, breathing abnormalities and feeding difficulties which require a feeding tube. She cannot walk, talk, or use her hands to eat or play. She does not get to be the typical little seven year old girl that she deserves to be. Because of her.....I am going to do this....AGAIN...ALL 13.1 miles! (Heck....this year I am not only setting a goal to FINISH THE RACE ON MY OWN TWO FEET but I hope to get a decent finish time!)
