Support Alexandria's Children through ACT's Early Care and Education Fund today!
Your donation will ensure a brighter future for children in Alexandria!
ACT for Alexandria, as convener of the Alexandria Early Care & Education Work Group, is bringing together partners from the public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors to improve opportunities for children and families in our community. We are working to educate and engage Alexandrians on the importance of investing in early care and education and preparing children for success in kindergarten.
Your donation today will support these efforts to develop a coordinated and aligned early care and education system in Alexandria. The funds raised during Spring2ACTion will be pooled with other donations in ACT for Alexandria’s Early Care and Education Fund.
Every day, Alexandria families face clear and urgent obstacles that make it difficult for children to realize their full potential. Did you know that…
- Nearly two-thirds of children enrolled in Alexandria’s schools are eligible for free-or-reduced lunch.
- One out of three third-graders is reading below grade level, which is an indicator of high school graduation and future success.
Since its founding in 2004, ACT has worked in partnership with the community to find solutions to some of our most pressing challenges, from hunger relief to child advocacy. In the last 10 years, ACT has provided more than $9 million in grants to help to local nonprofit organizations and strengthen their ability to deliver critical services.
While we are encouraged by our progress, there is still much work to be done, particularly in the area of early care and education. With your support, we can have an even greater impact to help ensure all Alexandrians succeed.
