Let's Help Project Pet In Their Heroic Efforts To Save Lucas, An Amazing Dog That They Rescued From A High Risk Shelter!

From the first day he arrived at the shelter, staff and volunteers were enamored with Lucas. Despite some injuries, this stray pit mix was a bundle of cheer that brought a smile to everyone he met. When he got his chance to go out for a walk, he would run and jump around for just a few minutes before settling in the nearest lap to enjoy some snuggle time. His goofy face, human-like personality, and incredible resilence resonated with the staff and volunteers, who knew that, due to both his breed and medical issues, he didn't stand much of a chance. They reached out to Project Pet, and these incredible heroes of the rescue community came through for Lucas! He's now doing extremely well at a beautiful facility nearby, and is almost ready to head to his forever home.

Without Project Pet, he wouldn't have made it out of the shelter, and the shelter staff, volunteers, and Project Pet rescuers did whatever was neccesary to get him out of there. Lucas' medical and kenneling bills are high, though, and Project Pet needs our help to offset these costs. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and Project Pet is an all-volunteer organization, so every penny goes to the animals they rescue. If everyone who wants to support this cause pitches in whatever they can, we know we can reach our goal of $3500 and fully fund Lucas' rescue costs!

For your viewing pleasure, here's a video of Lucas in action!

Update: May 29th

Lucas has been adopted!!!! He instantly bonded with his new family, and is settling in well in his new home. He was able to go home much sooner than we anticipated, so the bill from the facility was also much lower than we anticipated - our new fundraising goal is only $2100! We're so close to fully funding Lucas' rescue!

Thank you so much for your support!
