This April 29th, I'm climbing to raise money for an organization I hold close to my heart: Wediko Children's Services.
I first got involved with Wediko back in 2004 when I was hired for their New Hampshire summer program. Given the nature of the students at this "camp" (kids aged 8-18 with emotional & behavioral disabilities), I learned so much, made some awesome connections with amazing people, and it was without a doubt the most intense summer of my life.
I kept this wonderful organization in mind when I moved to Boston, and again worked for Wediko - this time at their Boston Extended School Year program.
This was the connection that landed me my first real job out of college...where I've been thriving for the last 6 years! - The McKinley Prep High School!
Here, I work alongside Wediko therapists on a daily basis to help the students succeed in a world that has essentially failed them thus so far. The Wediko clinicians provide individual, group, and family therapy, and help these students feel safe and make sense of everything that's happened in their overly-complicated lives.
I have nothing but complete thanks for the Wediko clinicians I've worked with. They're patient and constantly working to reach each kid...even when everyone else is ready to give up.
And that's why they deserve my stair-climbing energy and a donation from all of us! Help them continue to provide these services to students all throughout New Hampshire, Boston, & New York!
