Did you know that nearly 50% of Habitat homeowners applying today are single moms?
Did you know that more than 40% of women who head families are now living in poverty?
These 16 women, and their 43 children, each now has a safe and stable home, an affordable mortgage payment, a greater likelihood of their children attending college, an appreciable asset, and a lot less stress.
Habitat breaks the cycle of poverty through affordable homes. The 2012 DuPage Habitat for Humanity Women Build team seeks to engage a diverse group of women to join us in this important work.
Women Build-ers will raise $25,000 to support the construction of 12 sustainable townhomes, will dedicate one month to building Habitat homes, and will promote this project and the overall work of DuPage Habitat for Humanity.
