We are a "Wild" bunch of individuals passionate about wild places, who are helping to raise money for the nonprofit Wild Gift. Each Wild Gift Leader receives $10,000 in grant money to help fund their better world project. In 2013, we will support 5 new leaders. Our goal of $50,000 will pay for this part of our program.
Today, more than ever, we face monumental social, economic, and environmental challenges. We need bold ideas, enlightened leadership, and direct action NOW.
At Wild Gift, we are tackling these problems head on. Instead of focusing on a single cause, we provide support to self-directed individuals who have identified a problem within their community and want to solve it. Their ideas are ambitious, smart, creative and tangible. They are applying entrepreneurial concepts of innovation with the purpose of social good. These new ideas are changing the system- from growing organic vegetables on the rooftops in Brooklyn, to educating children in Nepal, to recruiting professional athletes to help developing countries have clean, safe drinking water. These individual projects are spreading the solution, and persuading entire communities to take new leaps.
To date, Wild gift has supported 39 self-designed innovative projects in the following areas of expertise:
The projects benefit local economies, the natural environment, and the lives of tens of thousands of people in 8 countries on 4 continents (including Haiti, Canada, Nigeria, Kenya, Chile, India, Samoa, Nepal) and 15 states.
But they can't do it alone. With your contribution, we will be able to continue to support these critical efforts with financial backing, professional mentoring and inspiration from the wild. Our goal is ambitious--to raise $50,000 (the cost of 5 leader grant awards) in 60 days. You are vital to these efforts. Be a partner in change and invest in our future TODAY.
