"TEAM FREEMAN" a team to run the Savannah Marathon in support of The Matthew Freeman Project: Pens and Paper for Peace.

Matthew's last conversation with his mother was a selfless request to send school supplies because he recognized the great need of the Afghan children and the ability of education to provide a driving force to bring peace. Sadly, days later he was killed in action. Led by his mother, Lisa, his family has endeavored to keep his vision alive still today. We've sent over 4,000 pounds of school supplies, all hand-delivered by U.S. military personnel, providing a fresh face of American generosity to the next generation of Afghan children.

The inauguration of the Savannah Rock n Roll marathon inspired Bryan Lewis, Kelly Meyer and Theresa Freeman to form a team, brought together by our love and frienship of Matthew, to provide support for the charity. Our vision is to bring a team together of Matthew's friends and supporters in our hometown, honoring his sacrifice by supporting The Matthew Freeman Project: Pens and Paper for Peace, in a unique event that we hope simply he views from above and smiles upon the continued efforts in his name.

We ask that each team member raise $100 in support of The Matthew Freeman Project: Pens and Paper for Peace.
