Join the Run for Life Haiti team and help build a new maternity center in Haiti for Heartline Ministries. Make a difference - for life!
We are looking for individuals or teams to participate in any event ie: A run, A walk, A ride, A Tri, a bake sale - anything that you can think of. Get sponsored and all of the money you raise will go towards buiding the new maternity center in Haiti.
You can create your own fundraising event of any kind in your local area and give towards the Run For Life - Haiti.
Thank you for helping us make a difference - for life!
Heartline Ministries provides prenatal care, labor and delivery services and postpartum care to the underserved women of Port au Prince. Hundreds of women are served each year.
Haiti is in dire need of more midwives and prenatal care programs. Haiti has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. Heartline is attempting to change to that.
The Run for Life Haiti event will take place in January of 2013. The 14 day event will take place to help raise awareness of the acute need for increased maternal healthcare options in Port au Prince and rural Haiti. The distance covered will be 500 kilometers, (315 miles) beginning in the southern peninsula and ending in the northern city of Cap Haitian.
Barry McDonald and his wife Rebecca lost their son the day he was born. They are passionate about the cause of safe pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum care. Barry has been training and preparing for the January 2013 Run For Life Haiti for more than a year. He dreams of a day where every woman can easily and affordably find care for themselves and their unborn baby. Barry's goal is to raise the full funding needed to build a larger maternity center for Heartline Ministries to expand their services.

I want to ensure the new Heartline Maternity Centre is built so more women can be taken care of with dignity.
