Pathfinders Project is a yearlong international service and research trip sponsored by Foundation Beyond Belief, a non-profit created to focus, encourage, and demonstrate humanist generosity and compassion. From July 2013 to July 2014, four humanists will complete clean water, education, and human rights projects in collaboration with local nonprofits and NGOs in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. As they complete these projects, the Pathfinders will collect data on each country and partner organization with the ultimate goal of evaluating sites for the forthcoming Humanist Service Corps.

Pathfinders Project and the Humanist Service Corps will enable humanists to put their values into action, thereby demonstrating those values to the world. Pathfinders Project has been described by Hemant Mehta as "the ultimate service trip for humanists" and by James Croft as "a life-changing opportunity." Certainly, Pathfinders Project will have a meaningful impact on each of the communities visited and a profound effect on each of the Pathfinders. Furthermore, Pathfinders Project will shape the humanist movement for years to come. In taking the first step toward launching the Humanist Service Corps, the Pathfinders are building the structure of a flagship program not just for Foundation Beyond Belief, but for the entire humanist movement.

In order to do any of this work, however, the Pathfinders need to be able to cover the cost of the materials associated with each project.

For the work with Bridge of Life School in Cambodia, project costs will include books, teaching supplies, and construction materials for building wells and a floating bathroom for the school in the floating community of Kampong Kleang.

For the work with Kasese Humanist Primary School and Uganda Humanist Schools Trust in Uganda, project costs will include books, teaching supplies, and construction materials for a new school site.

For the work with Alliance for African Women Initiative in Ghana, project costs will include teaching supplies.

For the work with Agua Muisne in Ecuador, project costs will include construction supplies for wells.

For the work with Aguayuda in Colombia, project costs will include water purification systems and construction supplies for wells.

For the work with Children of the Border, project costs will include construction materials for latrines in the Dominican Republic and a new school in Haiti.

For the work with Camino Seguro and Avivara in Guatemala, project costs will include teaching supplies.

Please support the Pathfinders in their yearlong international service efforts!
