"Pace Academy for Ubuntu" a team to help the Ubuntu Education Fund in South Africa raise money to sponsor a senior nurse and counselor.
"Ubuntu’s model works. We are a community institution, and we support the most vulnerable children along the pathway out of poverty. We don’t focus on how many children we reach, but how deeply we reach each child. We are in the business of transforming lives from cradle to career."
- Ubuntu Education Fund
By forming a partnership with the Ubuntu Education fund (ubuntufund.org), students from Pace Academy are supporting a well- established grass roots organization. Ubuntu has identified and groomed talented orphaned and vulnerable kids from the townships of Port Elizabeth and begun the necessary work of transformation. By creating a programs of empowerment and life skills, they are working on transforming the lives of these young people, many who are by products of HIV/AIDS, orphaned, vulnerable and full of potential, to emerge from their circumstances and return to their communities as leaders and transformative agents, creating organizations to save their own lives.
We will travel there this summer as a part of our Global Education Department. We will work along side Ubuntu and raise money to support their education and wellness initiatives.
It is our goal to use this trip to advocate for young people of Port Elizabeth to have quality health and education.
