We’re going to Lujan, Argentina to work with Teen Challenge, which is a faith based rehabilitation facility for individuals with life controlling addictions. We will do this by helping in the final phase of construction of their training facility, working along side the students on their farm, and sharing with the students and staff in ministry. We will also be taking a day to do ministry in the slums of Buenos Aires. Drugs, alcohol, and poverty are a major problem that continue to make it difficult for individuals who strive for better lives in Argentina.
The TC farm has a small dairy operation with about thirty cows. This dairy operation along with other food items processed (22 products) on the farm produces enough of a profit to support 75% of the entire Teen Challenge operating budget.
Construction on Training Facility to Include:
1. Complete build out of inner walls of second floor including four classrooms, two dorm roms and living/recreation room. Steel stud framing and dry wall will be used for inner walls. Inside perimeter walls already have drywall including columns. Perimeter windows and doors already installed.
2. Chapel already has interior back wall built with drywall installed. Needed is ceramic, painting, fixtures and ceiling.
3. Bathroom behind Chapel needs to be built out including plumbing and ceramic work. Floor plan calls for large bathroom, but we will use half the space for a smaller bathroom and the other half for storage.
4. Painting of walls
5. Ceramic tiles for the entire floor space
6. Run electric and install electrical fixtures
7. Install remaining inner doors
8. Hang ceiling tiles throughout
We are investing ourselves in a ministry that is going to be sending leaders out all over South and Central America to build Teen Challenge centers just like the one we’ll be working to complete. As you give toward this trip, you will be investing in a legacy ministry!
